My Bright Orange Parka

Makes me look like Kenny.

Where Did The Books Disappear

Went to the only bookstore (if you can call it that) here. And what do I see? The books have been pushed to 3-4 narrow shelves and the entire area has been filled with kids playthings. All around me were bawling, screaming, crying kids with their harried parents. The place used to disgust me even before, and now I hate it.

Will & Grace

Thats one soap thats spoiled people. I have discussed it with many of friends - guys and girls, and one thing is clear. Most girls would love to have a guy like Will as their friend. But what gets to you is when they try to mould every other guy they meet into one.
Bah...

Being Rude

Many of my friends have complained that I can be rude at times. Well what is rudeness for one might be plainspeak or bluntness for another. I am never generally rude on purpose, its just that it happens.
And seriously if I am rude, then you haven't seen South Park.

Lonely Day

Lonely Day - System Of A Down

Such a lonely day
And its mine
The most loneliest day of my life

Such a lonely day
Should be banned
This day that I can't stand

The most loneliest day of my life
The most loneliest day of my life

Such a lonely day
Shouldn't exist
A day that Ill never miss
Such a lonely day
And its mine
The most loneliest day of my life

And if you go, I wanna go with you
And if you die, I wanna die with you

Take your hand and walk away

The most loneliest day of my life
The most loneliest day of my life
The most loneliest day of my life
Life

Such a lonely day
And its mine
A day that I'm glad I survived

Hectic Sunday

The day was well spent watching a film festival on Human Rights, a philately exibition at IIC, shopping for DVDs and eating food from Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

You Can Have The Car Until

When my Mother and Father sent me their car for my use, my mother set 3 conditions until which I could use the car:
1. Until the car is beyond all repair.
2. The day the Government decides to ban such an old car from polluting the city.
3. The day it gets stolen.
...Criteria 3 was satisfied yesterday.

Curd, Rice and Mango Pickle

One of the simplest dishes, yet one that tastes great. In fact so many of my South-Indian friends swear by it. Its their staple diet.
I remember it more as I would ask for it, whenever I was recovering from a fever. It was an excellent way to regain appetite and rediscover the lost taste buds.

You Drain Me Out

Someone at work tells me that I drain them out while talking to them. And yet fail to justify how. Made me sound more like a Venus Fly Trap.

You know, I'm getting kinda tired, I could use a foot massage

At times I could do with a good foot massage. When the feet are tired and all cramped up. One of the best descriptions of a foot massage here.

You Know A City Well

When you manage to find food joints way past midnight.

I hate

Hate may be an extreme word. The list is rather of what irritates and bugs me.
1. Places of worship especially if they are dirty.
2. People clueless about music and putting on a show of liking it.
3. Badly read people.
4. Show offs.
5. Bad breath.
6. Whimpering women.
7. People using your pet phrases, mannerisms in front of you and irritating you to a max.
8. City supplements highlighting the latest fad.
9. Non entities being called "celebrities".
10. Game shows and talent shows on TV.
11. People using Paris Hilton, Bolloywood B list actors etc as beacons of success. Trust me these kind of people exist.
Many more to follow. I take after my Sister in terms of having little patience with idiots.

Vada Pav

In ET today, there was an article on how much in touch with the "common man" are few advertising bosses. For eating almost everyone mentioned Vada Pav.
That reminds me of Pune and Bombay. When a Vada Pav could be had for breakfast or lunch or just as a in-between. I miss the Vada Pav a lot here.

Mezz

Had a great time yesterday at Mezz. Good music. The best part when I got to be the DJ for some time. The reason, the original DJ made himself unavailable and I sauntered to the DJ's console as I wanted a change in the songs. It was awesome playing my favorites and searching for them especially when I was drunk. The DJ was a nice chap who was cool with this arrangement though.
Also met a chap who claimed to be gay. What is it with alcohol that perfect strangers walk up to you and open up?

Its Been A Year

Completing an year at work and in this city. It was so different a year back. I think I have changed a bit, in terms of my attitude, behavior and beliefs.
The city, its people all do make you change but underneath it all probably things don't change. The journey all this while has been the reward. I have generally enjoyed whatever I did however brief or long that may be.
Cheers and be ready for what lies ahead.

Cafe Morrison...

...turned out to be really good. They played a whole lot of genres, rock, metal, nu-metal, alternative. Me and S really didnt expect too much when we went to it. Though when we requested for SOAD, the DJ said, thrice, "I don't play SOAD here." And when we requested for Slipknot, "We don't play anything heavier than Mettalica." After a change of DJs at around 1, the songs were even better.
Check out the cool poster in the Men's loo.
All in all we had a great time. Will try Mezz tonight.

Brevity

Its proved. Brevity runs in the family. Seeing the SMS'es exchanged between me and the Sisters, I can safely conclude so.

What was your first day like?

First day of the new year. Spent lazing and reading. And dashing to the office at midnight. Interesting times ahead.
