B Grade Trash

The Sister in Pune happens to have access to a very good DVD rental library. And like all the other years she plans to have special Oscar screenings. Her poor brother here has no such luck. The rentals here suck. The trash that is kept by the local guy would kill any normal person. The last guy I tried giving advice on what movies to buy went out of business, as no one else touched those movies. Hence I refrain from publicly airing my choices. I have seen any amazing amount of tripe, B grade movies with horrid acting and bad plotlines and shoddy productions.
I now present reviews of a few of the selected gems that graced my viewing pleasure.
Note to Sis: The Academy of Motion Picture would never even touch these pics. I would advise the same.
1. Day of Wrath: Someone is killing families in mediaeval Spain during time of Inquisition and these families have a secret to hide. The hero who is the sheriff sets out to find and uncovers few secrets. The DVD got stuck and I couldn't complete the movie.
2. Behind Enemy Lines 2 - The Axis of Evil: The US President is shown few secret North Korean nuclear facilities satellite pics (Surprise Surprise!!!) but instead of bombing it they decide to send an elite Navy Seal team. Mid way the plan gets aborted but with 4 people already parachuted inside North Korea - the Hero, the guy who has a new born baby and wife waiting back home, a guy into some sort of Korean mysticism, and the Customary Black Guy(CBG). After some firefight, the CBG and the mystic are finished with the hero and the family man captured. The hero gets tortured but just in time remembers his Seal Trainer who coincidentally was black and pushed him beyond his limits(Cliche). They are taken away by another North Korean army unit with an officer who speaks fluent English and looks like Jacky Chang. After another firefight with the help of South Korean spies, Our Heroes escape. The Naval guard is elated and the guy wants to turn a hero and volunteers to complete the mission. They manage to complete it with a very tame ending.
What was missing: Acting, obligatory Korean chick who makes the hero fall in love with her.

Up next reviews of Sniper 1, Sniper 2 and Sniper 3.
